Dr. Indra Kumar Kattel, 57,  has been serving as the CEO of Excel Development Bank since April 12, 2022. Born in Champadevi VDC, Okhaldhunga, Nepal, Dr. Kattel holds a PhD in Credit Risk Management. He has made significant contributions to the field through his published books and over 10 articles. With a career spanning several decades, Dr. Kattel has held various key positions, including Deputy Executive Director at NagarikLaganiKosh, and BOD member at Nagarik Stock Dealer Company Limited. His expertise extends to risk management, investment analysis, portfolio management, problem-solving, and conflict management. Dr. Kattel has also been instrumental in policy formulation at multiple institutions.

Prior to his role at Excel Development Bank, Dr. Kattel served as the Manager of the Risk Management and Credit Monitoring Department at Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited, where he worked from 1989 to 2019, rising through the ranks from Assistant to Deputy Manager. He has been involved in several strategic committees and played a vital role in drafting credit policy guidelines and five-year strategic plans. His leadership and extensive experience have been pivotal in steering Excel Development Bank towards achieving its goals.
